And a chance to see what working with me actually feels like.
I knew I wanted to do something to support other franchisors, because I know how hard the role is and how little support exists for the person holding everything else up, but I didn't really know what that might look like.
A year later, I've exited my own franchise and I'm building a business to do just that.
Anniversary Antics is a free two-week experience on Telegram, running from 5th to 16th October. There will be prizes, giveaways, mini trainings, challenges and questions that might just get you thinking differently, and a chance for you to get a taste of what I'm creating and how I think about all things franchising.
Each day (Mon to Fri) there will be something quick and simple for you to get involved with in whatever way works for you. Some just for fun. Some that go a bit deeper and give you a taste of what you can expect, should you decide to work with me more closely.
Join every day or dip in and out when you want.
New to Telegram?
It's a messaging app, similar to WhatsApp. It has some great features that I think will work really well for this, and I know you're already in enough WhatsApp groups, so I thought we'd try something different.
It's straightforward to set up and you'll get a link to join the group when you sign up. Everything happens in one place, no need to check multiple platforms or remember passwords.

I'll be posting something new in the Telegram group every weekday. Some days it's a giveaway. Some days it's a mini training, a challenge, or a question that gets you thinking. Some days it's just fun.
Prizes and giveaways
I won't be offended if you just come for the free stuff!
Mini trainings and challenges
Quick and practical. The kind of thing that might just make you think "I hadn't considered it that way".
Questions to challenge your thinking
Not another thing to do, but an invitation to stop and consider something rather than just continuing with it the way you always have.
A taste of how I see franchising
Not tips or generic advice, more things I commonly see going on underneath the thing you think is the problem you have. Because when you understand what's driving your decisions, the way forward becomes much clearer.
Community with other franchisors
The next step up from the Lounge, where we get to go a bit deeper and support each other in a whole new way.
Fun
Because running a franchise can feel a bit serious at times!
And along the way, you'll get a sense of what it's like when you get my brain on your business, or an issue you're facing too. Spotting the pattern before it costs you. Gently challenging the thing you've been avoiding. Giving you permission to build this around what you actually want, not what the franchise industry, or anyone else, says you're supposed to want.

You've been following along on Instagram. Maybe you're in the Lounge WhatsApp group. You've nodded at a post or two, saved something to come back to later.
And in the meantime you're working harder than you thought you'd be working. You might be in the place where the franchise income isn't quite covering you yet, so you're still running your own territory while trying to support franchisees who need more than you expected.
You keep saying you're going to focus on recruitment, on marketing, on the things you know would move things forward if you actually had chance to focus on them, and then you don't, because another day got away from you.
You scroll past other franchise brands and wonder how they're making it look so easy. You feel responsible for your franchisees' results in a way that feels heavier than you expected. You want them to succeed, sometimes more than they seem to want it for themselves, but there's only so much of what they do that you're in control of.
And although you're proud of what you've built and of the difference you know what you do makes, there are times when you wonder whether you're cut out for this, or question whether building a franchise is really worth it. That perhaps you're just missing something everyone else seems to have figured out.
Anniversary Antics is a chance to get a feel for what it's like when someone who's lived this role is there asking the questions that make you think differently, focusing on you, the person behind the business, what you need and how to actually get it, and find out whether this is the kind of support and community you've been looking for without quite knowing how to ask for it.

A year ago, this was just an Instagram account and an idea. I've spent the year building a place for franchisors to gather, listening to what's really going on and putting the foundations in place for what I want to bring to this space, but doing so alongside managing the process of exiting my own franchise. Now that's complete I'm ready to really get going.
Having lived the franchisor role for over 15 years, I know how it feels to carry the weight of other people's livelihoods and expectations, to be putting your all into your brand while constantly wondering if you're focusing on the right things, and having to make decisions that are never going to please everyone but have to be made anyway, and I don't want anyone else to feel like they have to carry all that alone anymore.
When you're deep in the day-to-day, it can be hard to see what's actually behind the friction you're feeling. You think you need better marketing, or tighter systems, or more leads. And maybe you do. But often what's really happening is you've lost sight of why you started this in the first place, or you're still trying to build someone else's version of success instead of your own, or you're avoiding the hard conversation or decision because you don't trust yourself to make it yet. I see that pattern before it costs you more time, money, or belief in yourself.
Anniversary Antics is a celebration of the Happier Franchisor journey so far, and a glimpse into what's available next, and the difference it can make when there's someone truly in your corner.
Because support for you isn't a luxury or nice to have, it's strategy 101 for actually getting you and your business to where you want them to be.
If you enjoy the Anniversary Antics experience and want to work with me more closely, I'll be sharing the different ways you can do that inside the group too.
But first, come on in.
Help me celebrate, with some fun, some games, some questions to ponder (oh, don't forget the prizes) and see if it's the kind of place you'd like to hang out in a bit longer.
Helen
